Realizing that the physical doesn’t matter so much
After all, God offers us love and many hugs too
We do not have to “see” him to feel what He can do
Here, On-line, as we share, meet and chat,
It is wonderful and amazing to remember that….
The fact that we do not see or touch is only an inference
As long as we can feel, we can let God make up the difference.

What a wonderfully way to express what we experience here.
Especially considering I've felt so much love and support in such a short time here.

Yes, I wrote this one. It came to me this morning as I was thinking about a conversation I had with a friend of mine about Al-Anon On-line. She just couldn't understand how effective an On-line Support Group can be if you couldn't really get a "hug" or "not see someone's face" when they are "sharing" with you. "Don't you miss out on the 'warm fuzzies?' she said to me.
I had to explain it, and as I did, I realized that the way we communicate On-line is a lot like the way our HP communicates with us. We don't physically see Him, we don't physically touch Him, and yet, we feel His love, we feel His care, we feel His support. I feel my HP's 'warm fuzzies' as much as I feel them from the support I receive here. So, I thought to myself, What's the difference? Realizing, as I ended with the poem, the physical part is truly only an inference.

Here, On-line, we are lucky if we see a face
But ultimately know, we are in the right place
Here, we offer each other love and support
Even if we have nothing to share or report
Here, On-line, in this global, universal web
A Guiding Voice is heard; our prayers are said
Here, we learn to embrace without a single touch
Realizing that the physical doesn’t matter so much
After all, God offers us love and many hugs too
We do not have to “see” him to feel what He can do
Here, On-line, as we share, meet and chat,
It is wonderful and amazing to remember that….
