I am so stressed out!  The recovering alcoholic in my life, who happens to be my boyfriend, just relapsed not too long ago.  Unfortunately, we don't live together so we don't get to spend a whole lot of time together anyway and now he has to go to an AA meeting every night for the next 90 days.  Plus, we are both in college so for the next month and a half I am pretty much not going to be able to see him at all.  It pisses me off too because I always told him that if he needed to talk to or anything to come to me and he promised he would, but he didn't!!!!  GRRRRR!!!!!!

i believe aa was the right place for your a to go. they can offer him what you may not be able to. you came to the right place. he has his program he needs to work on and you can have one here  for yourself. it is a wonderful thing that he is choosing to go to aa. my a certainly wont. i would give him to aa for months at a time if he gained sobriety from it. you need to ask yourself if you love him. if you love someone dont you want whats best for them? 90 days is only 90 days in the long run i believe it will be well worth the wait. just something to think about. keep coming back

I spent the weekend with my recovering A. He has moved out and we get together usually to do something for our children. Anyway, we were talking about the disease and so forth. He said I need to find a support group. The first thing that went through my head was why doesn't he ever look to me for support? I guess we are the partners and everyone else is for support. It hurt when he said that but I thought maybe by being in a support group he would be able to eventually be there for me.
