Perhaps one of the greatest rewards of meditation and prayer is the sense of belonging that comes to us. TWELVE STEPS AND TWELVE TRADITIONS, p. 105
That's what it is -- belonging! After a session of meditation I knew that the feeling I was experiencing was a sense of belonging because I was so relaxed. I felt quieter inside, more willing to discard little irritations. I appreciated my sense of humor. What I also experience in my daily practice is the sheer pleasure of belonging to the creative flow of God's world. How propitious for us that prayer and meditation are written right into our A.A. way of life.
#######ROSIE....you know NEVER did i ever feel like i belonged anywhere.......with my injuries, mental and emotional injuries/disabilities, AND the *dirty secret* i never felt like i belonged anywhere....i was , in my mind, *left out of life*....like God has no plan for me.....there was no *place* for me here, amongst the clean people...and i mean clean of heart/soul/life/ etc........now???? since i got into recovery???? i KNOW i belong.....i DO belong....i AM just as good....just as loveable as anyone else............."there is NOT anything wrong with me, but there IS something wrong with what happened to me" i am not my abuse!!! that is not my inventory......not my crime against God.......i am UNhooking from something that is not EVEN my inventory.....what i do/ say/ NOW since i am mentally/emotionally healthy enuf to BE responsible, THAT is my inventory.....and i am keeping *my side of the street* as clean as i can.....when debris falls on it???? i get the broom of steps 8/9 out and i give it the works!!!!!! thank you...........

What I call my HP is God - creator of all things, love & light. I am a christian than reads Zen & believes in reincarnation - yes, I am odd in my own beliefs, but @ nearly 40, I have "picked over & chosen" what makes sense & what resonates and works for me.
I believe God is All Forgiving & All Knowing... the silly little glitch is for us to simply forgive ourselves for being human, let the shame out of the closet & be defenseless. Of course, we are not our actions, not our parents, spiritually we are all free. I refuse to allow society to compartmentalize me into what it thinks a woman, an American, a human being is "supposed to be! (i took a lil nap, so i think i can make a lil more sense know, heh) but
I relate so very much to being *uncomfortable in my own skin* it has taken me this long to realise that my ultra seneitivities, sometimes telepathy & ability to channel healing energy to others, is a gift from God. I like everyone else need others - for no man is an island... if there were nothing to learn, we would be of light already. In spirit, we are all connected.
Yes, I have OCD, yes I am a ball of nerves, yes I'm ACOA but I am a spiritual being in chemical clothing... my Soul is what is of value of me, my body a vessel that one day will go back to the Earth to be food for worms... but my soul consciousness will carry on & this part of me that I am right now... will carry on forever.
My personal opinions (everyone) take what u like & leave the rest....
