Hi Barbara
GO!!!!!
You know where the meeting is and what time.
Give it a try.
Is it a different meeting than last time? I recently tried a new meeitn and WOW what a difference.
This is for YOU. Is there ant reward that you can give yourself for going? Sometimes I bargain myself to do things, if I work on a project for so long then I will: take a walk, bike, shop etc.
We will like a report tomorrow am of how the meeting was :))))

Hi Barbara,
So glad you posted here. I would encourage you to attend your f2f Al-Anon meeting tonight. It is suggested we attend at least six consecutive meetings before we make any major life changing decisions. If, for some reason, you are not comfortable in a particular meeting you can find another goup that you feel more comfortable attending.
There is so much experience, strength and hope in our meetings here on line as well and I hope to see you there. It is always good to attend the face-to-face meetings as more exposure to meetings offers more and varied experience, strength and hope.
Al-Anon is a wonderful program and it works if you work it!

Good luck Barbara!
I too have to go try some new f2f meetings and feel nervous about going. Just remember you are going for YOU and there is no better reason that that.
Let us know how it goes...it will give me inspiration to go too!

Others are right about trying to find the meeting that works best for you - my home group is fine, but there is another meeting I sometimes go to, about an hour's drive away, which I like better. The important thing is, though, to GO.
Another thing - in my meeting, there are very few people living with active A's. Most of the people at my group have been in the program for years, have either left the A, or the A sobered up years ago. When I first started, I didn't really feel much connection with many of them. I found, though, that when I shared what was happening to me, they would open up, and there was not as much difference between us as I had thought. It really is one of those situations where you take out what you put into it, like so much of life.

If you choose not to go, then you are essentially saying you don't deserve to heal and lead a better life!!! You are worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never give up on yourself! I'm rooting for you!! God/HP is right next to you every step of the way!
