He's waiting on a bed to open and it can happen anytime between tomorrow and Wed. He just called ot ask if i would take him and if he could leave his car here at the house. What do I do? I'm not sure what to make of this. Help!

My opinion? If someone is sincerely making an attempt to get help then I would be (and have been) supportive of that. As long as you're comfortable with taking him and allowing him to leave his car by you, I personally see nothing wrong with doing so.

Kim,
I wouldn't try to make anything of it. You yourself have said you have always stood by him. When he decides to put himself in rehab, and asks you for a ride, you are not enabling him by doing so. He's not asking you to make the arrangements, just supply a lift, and keep his car for him.
I myself would welcome the chance to bring my husband, (or anyone else who genuinely wanted help) to rehab.
Let your HP guide you in this, do what makes you comfortable and go from there.
Love Jeannie

Dear Kim,
If he has finally asked for the ride, drive him to the front door, and wish him luck, rehab is tough and he has decided to go. Don't think about it, just do it. You will feel good about it when its over. I tried so hard to get my brother to rehab and he never wanted it. You can drive and they dont get out of the car, but if they ask and want to then I say do it.
Good Luck

I'm with the others Kim... he's asking, and if you are able, go for it!!
(Hopefully) good news.... even better when the actual day comes, and he walks through that door..... but big news, and sounds like progress!

Hi - I don't know what kindof relationship you have with your fella , but I would take him together or not he needs your support. Remember that as long as u continue to look after you , do what u have to do for yourself meetings , keeping in touch with your sponsor etc regardless of what he does you will be okay.
Don't be dissapointed if on wed he has chanaged his mind about going to treatment three days is along time. I hope for your families sake he is sincere and for his sake. remember there is always hope. One day at a time life will unfold just the way it's suppose to . good luck Louise
