my husband is an alcoholic, but been sober for 5 years, i thought things would get better, but my daughter of 22 is an alcoholic too, she has 2 beautifull children she doesnt look after properly, my husband and i have brought up her oldest, nicole who is 3 and a half, i feel as though im going crazy all over again, cant cope with my daughter, she drinks every night, every weekend for the past 6 weeks we have been in fights because of her, trying to protect her, it has taken me 5 years to start getting myself together with what my husband put me through. i took an overdose an ended up in hospital, a couple of years ago, thats the way i feel again today, im sorry im really too depressed to say anything else except i know i need some help.

Hi welcome to this message board. Do you have a doctor you can call tonight? Tell your doctor on the phone you tried to overdose before and the feelings that led to that are what you're experiencing now. Ask someone to drive you to the nearest emergency room. You need help with this. Life can get better, and many of us have been where you are. Today we are living lives of joy. Come back when you can. Pick up the phone now. --- Jill

Think of all the love you bring to those beautiful grandchildren of yours. Everyone has a breaking point with stress. Talk to a crisis line if you can't get hold of a doctor. We are here for you. Keep posting and we will listen. Luv Leo xxx

When ever I feel weak and like I can't cope anymore with anything......I go and look at my eight year old at night when she is sleeping. It makes every battle worth it and I draw strength from knowing I'm doing the right thing by her. It is very easy to forget to take care of ones self when your being the rock for everyone else. Don't forget about you.....without you the children would have nothing. I know you are doing the best you can.....find strength where you can. Look at your grandbaby and smile...hopefully she will smile back.....that may be all the strength you need.
By far the one thing I have learned here is your not alone. I only suggest things that have helped me get through so very bad times in my life. I wish you all the best
