I know this is cyberspace but we have to remember many of consider each other family.  Just a friendly reminder that we need not repeat what we hear in the chat room anywhere to anyone, especially if we do not not it to be fact!  What we say here. stays here and with the same people it was shared with.  You don't go outside a f2f meeting and talk about what was said with someone else, now do you?  And if you do it is wrong!

The gossip in the chat room has got to come to a stop, we cannot prove or disprove anything about anything or anyone, so to me so it is all hearsay!  People are getting hurt and not feeling safe in the room any longer and that is a shame when you don't feel safe at home.

Private mesages should be llimited to Alanon context and not personal activities of others.  Besides I'm too old or not old enough, for he said she said.

Just my humble opinions, let's hear yours...

Even though I hardly ever get to the chat room, I totally agree with you on that subject.  I would die if I knew someone was gossiping about me.  A lot of us here really do consider these people as close friends or family.  And it would hurt and I would feel betrayed.  We are supossed to be anonymous, aren't we?  Thanks for listening to my opinion.

While I haven't been able to get into the chat rooms, I agree with you 100%. I don't even talk to anyone outside of here what is on the board. It's just not right. My A's anonymity was broken by a lunatic. He was mortified. I was just plain furious. It can hurt a person in more ways than one. Let us all be respectful of each other. Thanks for the reminder. Hi I am not part of the chat room but would hope that the support and understanding that is evident on this forum follows through to all areas.  I was only saying to Tom how much I have confided to members on this board because of the anonymity.  Look after each other it is a hard enough day to day struggle with the alcohol in our lives without betraying the one's we trust.  Leo x 

I post here often, and also frequent the chat room, and have never seen, heard, or participated in anything close to gossip about others on this board....

I don't like the blanket insinuation your post seems to suggest..... If individuals are gossiping, please reply to them directly, and hold them to task...

i agree....i post here...go to chats here.....and NEVER participate in any gossip....to tell you the truth  NOONE has tried to approach me..if they did, i would tell them  right away  "don't even GO there with me".....

i mind my own business/ work my program/  and you know its bad enough to do step 4 stuff  with my fellow *groupies*  but to have it aired on the streets????   eeeeeek!!!!  horrible thought.....i have shed my pain/ anguish/ tears on these boards......for my recovery i know i have to shine the light on ALL my  *spiritual cockroaches*  created by my abuser......

 

i do it cuz i know i am getting well.....but i TRUST...i HOPE  that it STAYS IN THESE ROOMS!!!!!!   i totally agree.....the   "he said...she said"  crap is just that!!!  CRAP....we don't need it!!!!!  peace/ rosie

I spend alot of time in the chat rooms. I would not like if people were talking about me. I go there because I feel that it is safe and that I can trust these people.
