A really good read for any of you interested is the book "From Survival to Recovery" Anyway I went through chapter 8 Living healthier lives. In this chapter was some interesting stuff that makes me think of all of the difficulties I have faced in my recovery. In about half of the chapter there is a I guess sub chapter called sustaining a healthy life. I didn't get to finnish but I do recommend this book.
I know for all of the new commers how overwhelming it can be and all of the literature that there is out there that it is hard to decuide which literature to get but through the people here on MIP and at the meetings alot of really good stuff is out there. This book I mentioned I have come back to and if you have grown up in this disease and not only have a spouse that is an A alot of it hits close to home.

That's one of my favorite Al-Anon books and it is the book that got me here. It really opened my eyes. Broke my heart too.
I think I've read it 5 times already.

From Survival to Recovery is the book that brought me to Alanon, too. Every time I read it, I learn something new. It puts in writing things I have always thought but never allowed myself to express. It has been good for me to see the benefits of speaking up - if those people hadn't, I wouldn't be where I am now...
