Hey all

I went to a new f2f last week just to see what it would be like.  Well I heard two things that were pretty cool to me.

1.  A woman said that she had a God Box.  And some of you probably know what this is but for those of you that don't.  A God Box as she explained it is where you have a special box that you can write things on a piece of paper and put the slips of paper into the box.  And these are the things that you are letting go of and giving to God or your HP.  I thought this was so cool because it is tangible, it is something that you can actually practice before you just do it naturally.  And I need a lot of practice!!!

2.  She also talked about how she heard something from her sponsor.  That if you stop yourself, take a deep breath, and think about THE FIVE OPTIONS you have for the situation, then you don't have to react right away.  She says there is always at least three ways to deal with something and it gives you a "time out" to think before you speak.  I thought that was neat because sometimes I get so wrapped up in my emotions that I don't take my time to evaluate ALL my options.

I've heard about the God box, and can really see that working. I intend to try it next time I have something that I just can't let go. The other one sounds like a great idea too. I am a great believer in not reacting until I'm sure what my reaction really is - I often find that once I have had a chance to think about something, I actually feel differently than my initial reaction. Good ides, both of them.

Brown eyes, Not only have I heard about them, but I have one. It's was given to me by a friend who lived in Japan. They are called Wish Jars (I forgot the Japanese name) or something like that. But there's a twist to them. Instead of having a lid to them, they are one piece. On the side of the jar is a slit (think suggestion boxes) that you put your wishes in. The point is once you put the piece of paper in, you can't take it back out without breaking the jar. Because if you could take them back out, you might dwell on them. It's like writing a letter out of frustration or anger and then burning it. The funny thing is that until I saw your post, I hadn't given it much thought. I don't think that I've added anything to it in a couple of years. If ever I needed to, it's now. Thanks for the reminder. Live strong, Karilynn

    I have heard of this and it is a tangible thing to do until it becomes natural.  I think it is a wonderful idea.  Until I read your post I hadn't actually thought of putting one to use.  I think I will give it a try.

     Sitting here writing this post I had a thought.  If I turn something over to my HP does that mean I don't have to work on it anymore? Of course not...but I am not supposed to worry over it, right?  How do I work to make inprovements and not worry.  That confused me for a minute and now I am having trouble figuring it out.

Julie~ I have never heard of either thing. I really like the box idea since it is a tangible thing. It gives me a chance to practice. The second idea is aboslutely fantastic. Too bad the entire world hasn't heard about this idea. I never really gave it much tought as to every situation there being at least 3 options... sometimes it seems like there are no options but I will begin thinking hard to come up with more choices in the future. Powerless, I think what it means is that you are letting go of something that you have no control over. And it is something that you are worrying about so much and just cannot let it go. Then if you give it to God or HP to handle, you let go of the worry and the pain you are going through. I don't know if someone else can explain it more clearly? Hope this helps Julie D.
