Hello friends,

My dad may get out of the hospital tomorrow if his blood thinning level is adequate :) Mom and I are much more relaxed now too. He is not suppose to drive for awhile so I will probably stay here another week. I did talk to my daughter 2 nights ago and she opened up to me about alot of her feelings etc. She is trying to get into the Army now! I am detatching and letting her live her own life. I would be surprised if they took her with her past history of depression and alcohol abuse/disorderlies,,,,,or maybe I am praying they won't take her. She has her hopes up as usual and I did suggest she not get them up too much. She has to be out of her apartment by the end of the month and that means financial help from us has been drastically cut. I am not sure if she will come back home to live for awhile or live somewhere else. That is her decision. She and her dad have bumped heads and then made up etc. since I have been gone. I can only think that HP/God has a hand in all of what is going on with me too. Being away from my spouse has been healthy for me being his anger had been so high lately. I hope the marriage can remain together though but I am not going to look ahead,,,only one day at a time for now. I sure appreciate all the positive thoughts and prayers from all. I can feel them! I will try to stop at this library now and then but it does take energy for me to do that while taking care of my mom too. She is so much better now that my dad is getting healthier. I still am so glad for this site for me to get support from and to be able to just post my feelings and life. I see how we do isolate when we have a life with an alcoholic in it and to be able to chat and post to poeple that truly understands is invaluable! You are take care of you too and work your program because it really does work if you work it! your friend in recovery, cdb :)

I hope that things go well with your dad for him to come home and will be praying that all goes well.  It is nice to here that you and your mom are able to relax a bit and that she is doing much better as well.  I hope that you are taking the time to relax and think of your self and your health.

I am so glad to know that your daughter has opened up to you I pray that she is doing well.  The Army is a scary thought I can see why you wouldn't want to have her go that route.  Maybe they will teach her the self disaplin that she needs to have a sucessful recovery.  Who knows on her HP does.

Dear cdb, I have been keeping up with your posts, and glad your dad seems to be on the mend. Maybe this will be good for your daughter, you not being so accessible. Know what you mean about the army, my son had a notion to join, some time ago. Think he might blame me for not encouraging him! Too bad, it was his choice in the end..... Still praying for you and your whole family.  You're right to do one day at a time - and keep taking care of yourself.  To live in the present - so easy to say, but so difficult sometimes - I'm amazed at your strenght and what you are going through.  I'm glad you had some communication with your daughter.  I'm prayin for Hp's will for you and your family.
