The Multnomah County library computers are down--again--so I'm at my coffeshop haunt on NW 23rd using prepaid net time.

I finally got to the Park Blocks farmer's market; the directions I got put me at the wrong end and I drew a tough walk to start the day. the Park Blocks are Portland's answer to Central Park in New York, being a tree-lined promendae that connects Portland State University with downtown. It was worth it though; the produce was every bit as good and varied as I had been told. This time it was the berries that caught my attention; these people will cross any berry with any other and get things such as youngberries, marionberries and sylvanberries (all yummy).

Then I headed for the New Seasons market (yellow line to N. Portland Blvd and across street) for their Saturday sample party...this time...chili peppers and things made with them such as soups, spreads and salsas. If this stuff can't wake your mouth up, you may be dead.

After having bought lunch (on the state, of course) and asking about a nice place to eat it, the locals clued me in to Peninsula Park. It turned out to be another long walk away from the market. Its central feature was a massive Victorian style rose garden in the style of a maze. There were roses of all hues and sizes there among (I would guess) at least 2,500 rose bushes. I will definitely go back.

My dogs are barkin big time :)

Dinner will be my favorite...pho...from Misohapi down the street, capped off by the Love Rally (whatever the heck that is) in Pioneer Square at the heart of downtown. It's a couple dollars over budget for food, I admit; with all I've accomplished this month I can truthfully say I earned it!!

A company I applied to has called. I'll call back Monday and see if I can get in.

Tomorrow is the resource fair and free BBQ for the homeless back at the Park Blocks. Then, if I feel up to it, I will hit the Mt. Tabor meeting tomorrow night.

My last hurdle is vocational rehab interview on the 20th. Then I can officially stand down from crisis mode and genuinely begin to relax.

As you might imagine, I am still having huge anxiety problems. The debt collectors are harassing me by mail--more financial bullying :( Nothin i can do about that, I know. It still hurts.

Even so, this is an upgrade to where I was. I appreciate your givin me the shot at startin over more than you can possibly imagine!
