I am new here and don't even know where to start, all I know is my husbands drinking is making my life miserable, I don't even know if I love him anymore the man I fell in love with is gone, he is always too drunk to carry on a conversation, at this point I feel more like his mother. People think I am pathetic for putting up with him, but what am I supposed to do, telling him to stop doesn't work. I don't want to live like this for the rest of my life, but feel really helpless. Sorry for whining I have alot of anger inside and tend to keep things inside I need to vent.

Al-Anon will show u how to get yourlife back on track as u learn about the disease of alcoholism . Your not the reason he drinks , nothing u can do about him but alot u can do for yourself. Try our meetings for a few months and see how ufeel then , before making a life changing decission. Take care of you Louise

Start thinking of you and what is best for you and how you can get healthy, safe, and happy. Check out information online about alcoholism and how you can connect to your HP in helping you make your decisions. Since we can't control the problem, we must focus on us.

We who live, or have lived with the problem of alcoholism understand as perhaps few others can. We too were lonely and frustrated, but in Al-Anon we discover that no situation is really hopeless, and that it is possible for us to find contentment and even happiness whether the alcoholic is still drinking or not.
So much depends on our own attitudes, and as we learn to place the problem in its true perspective, we find it loses its power to dominate our thoughts and our lives
The family situation is bound to improve as we apply the Al-Anon ideas. Without such spiritual help, living with an alcoholic is too much for most of us. Our thinking becomes distorted by trying to force solutions and we become irritable and unreasonable without knowing it.
