Which book are you talking about DA? I see pro and con 12 step, one on religious views v secular. I see books devoted to children and those directed to adults. Nothing there offends me. Perhaps I missed something. Or maybe I am just too tolerant. Diva

Dana, When I first came into Alanon, I was scared it would turn out to be a cult! When people said "Conference Approved Literature", I thought "maybe they scared, want to influence my mind" LOL NOW, I am so careful about literature, especially with newcomers, and think, really, if this is a true Alanon site, we do not need anything other than CAL. Recently, in the chatroom several people have asked where to get literature, I mean, basic stuff, leaflet on Detachment, How Al Anon Works, Just For Today card. Here in UK, this is available at almost all f2f meetings. Wish it was easy to point USA members where to find. Thank you for bringing up this issue. This is important. I know this is a private site, and am sure it needs advertising, but..... CAL is crucial, especially for newcomers. Dont know the answer to your question. Know that John owns site, know he comes into chat room, but never responds when I ask a question.....what to do? Dont know, newcomer here, will continue to try to move newcomers away from lit not conference approved..... may get me chucked out! Yeah David, that is one of the books- under the title "Erotic Reader"- I couldn't believe it when I saw that on there.  And yes, I did email John about it.
