There's a ship out On the ocean At the mercy of the sea It's been tossed about Lost and broken Wandering aimlessly And God somehow You know that ship is me 'Cause there's a lighthouse In the harbor Shining faithfully Pouring its light out Across the water For this sinking soul to see That someone out there Still believes in me
There's a moment We all come to In our own time and Our own space Where all that we've done We can undo If our heart's In the right place
Refrain: On a prayer, in a song I hear your voice and It keeps me hanging on Raining down Against the wind I'm reaching out till We reach the circle's end When you come Back to me again And again I see My yesterday's in front of me Unfolding like a mystery You're changing all that is And used to be
I love the significance of lighthouses. Not only are they so beautiful, I use the analogy of God, or HP, and know that when I put my God first, the rest is easier to bear. Hope you enjoy too.

Beautiful (((Maria)))
Thanks for sharing. I have heard the song, but never really "heard" all the words before. Doesn't need music! I love the analogy of the lighthouse and HP!!!

I have always loved that song. It speaks volumes of peace to me. Another by the same artist I found hope from during my husband's active days was called "Simple Things" (I believe is correct title). Thank you for the post.
Love Ya

Was trying to find the one Ala was talking about...didn't find it (unless it has a different title??) ... found this one:
The Change (by Garth Brooks)
One hand Reaches out And pulls a lost soul from harm While a thousand more go unspoken for They say what good have you done By saving just this one It's like whispering a prayer In the fury of a storm
And I hear them saying you'll never change things And no matter what you do it's still the same thing But it's not the world that I am changing I do this so this world will know That it will not change me
This heart Still believes The love and mercy still exist While all the hatred rage and so many say That love is all but pointless in madness such as this It's like trying to stop a fire With the moisture from a kiss
And I hear them saying you'll never change things And no matter what you do it's still the same thing But it's not the world that I am changing I do this so this world will know That it will not change me
As long as one heart still holds on Then hope is never really gone
I hear them saying you'll never change things And no matter what you do it's still the same thing But it's not the world that I am changing I do this so this world we know Never changes me
What I do is so This world will know That it will not change me

Maria I beleive i have heard that song by Garth Brooks too and that is cool!
Here is a song that speaks to me:
Who AM I?
with Point of Grace
Over Time you've healed so much in me
I am living proof
that although my darkest hour
had come you light could still shine through.
Through at times it just enough to cast a
shadow on the wall.
Well I am grateful you shine a light
on me at all.
Who am I .....that you would
love me so gently?
Who am I... that you would recognize
my name?
Lord, Who am I ...that you would speak to me so softly ?
Conversation with the love most
high... Who Am I?
Amazing Grace how sweet the sound
that saved a wrentch like me .
I once was lost but now i 'm found
was blind but now I see.
And the more I sing that sweet old song ,
the more i understand
that i do not comprehend this love
that's coming from your hand..
Grace grace God's grace
Grace that will pardon and
Cleanse wwith in.
Grace , grace God's graces
Grace that is greater then all my sin
Lord who am i?
Who am I?
Who am I?
This song really hit home for me while I have been in recovery It really made me think that My Hp
is always there for me no matter what and how gentle his love is!!!
thanks for letting me share what song has hepled me in my recovery!
Love you all bubbles123

not the one I was thinking of - but I like that one as well.
The one I was thinking of I later found was not by Garth but by Kenny Chesney - and it is called the Simple Things.
It talks of an A who goes to a partners door and wants them to be there when they share on their 1st year of recovery.
Some of the lyrics go:
Its the simple things in life that you miss the most when you lose control
Devil takes your hand and says have another shot and one more beer.
What I would give right now to have the CD in hand to have all of the lyrics. All the same the song offers hope that A's can find recovery when and only when they are ready.
When You Come Back To Me Again by Garth Brooks
There's a ship out
On the ocean
At the mercy of the sea
It's been tossed about
Lost and broken
Wandering aimlessly
And God somehow
You know that ship is me
'Cause there's a lighthouse
In the harbor
Shining faithfully
Pouring its light out
Across the water
For this sinking soul to see
That someone out there
Still believes in me
There's a moment
We all come to
In our own time and
Our own space
Where all that we've done
We can undo
If our heart's
In the right place
Refrain: On a prayer, in a song
I hear your voice and
It keeps me hanging on
Raining down
Against the wind
I'm reaching out till
We reach the circle's end
When you come
Back to me again
And again I see
My yesterday's in front of me
Unfolding like a mystery
You're changing all that is
And used to be
