I love the significance of lighthouses.  Not only are they so beautiful, I use the analogy of God, or HP, and know that when I put my God first, the rest is easier to bear.  Hope you enjoy too.

Thanks for sharing.  I have heard the song, but never really "heard" all the words before.  Doesn't need music!     I love the analogy of the lighthouse and HP!!!

I have always loved that song.  It speaks volumes of peace to me.  Another by the same artist I found hope from during my husband's active days was called "Simple Things" (I believe is correct title).  Thank you for the post.

Maria I beleive i have heard that song by Garth Brooks too and that is cool! Here is a song that speaks to me: Who AM I? with Point of Grace Over Time you've healed so much in me I am living proof that although my darkest hour had come you light could still shine through. The one I was thinking of I later found was not by Garth but by Kenny Chesney - and it is called the Simple Things.

It talks of an A who goes to a partners door and wants them to be there when they share on their 1st year of recovery. 

Some of the lyrics go:

Its the simple things in life that you miss the most when you lose control

Devil takes your hand and says have another shot and one more beer.

What I would give right now to have the CD in hand to have all of the lyrics.  All the same the song offers hope that A's can find recovery when and only when they are ready.
