I have a question about meeting behaviour.  In our group there is one member who repeatedly talks about death in all forms and in vivid detail.  Every week.  Not in USA.  I feel this is no help.  He is obviously hurting, but it's painful to listen I try to go to the bathroom when he speaks but it's impossible to leave so often.  Strange, but I think he wants to instill fear in meeting.   We've all had expeiences with death.  Some have lost their children.  Must be very hard for them.  Still they say nothing, and the stories get worse. What happens in USA meetings?

hi toto, In our meetings we try to be more uplifting and share how we have grown in alanon. Sometimes people are feeling down and share that too. Like in our online meetings, we have a topic to share on most of the time. Has this person lost someone recently? Alanon makes it pretty acceptable to share on about anything, I'm not sure what the procedure is if someone is purely morbid and speaks of death to scare others. Maybe you could talk to the chair person or someone that has been there a while to figure something out. Christy

If someone in our groups displays ongoing negative talk in meetings we usually hold a group

conscience and discuss the issue.
