First order of business was to buy a transit pass; without which here you're screwed.
next was a meeting Senora bob clued me in to...NW at noon...40 people...topic was gifts of the program :)
There was a Vietnamese place nearby which had my favorite comfort food of all..pho...a variety of beef noodle soup served with vegggies, accompanied by a cold shredded cabbage salad. Terrific, and if this is any indication of what's to come at the better places, i'm gonna like this town.
they have a streetcar here too...very convenient for getting to 23rd st, the hip district. This town is literally loaded with cofffee shops, one on every corner, all with wi-fi access. This is a wired town...bwahahah
I have started the process of getting state aid; i have to have federal records transferred. I've already been to 3 places and likely need to go to more.
I had a coffee downtown before heading back to the hotel by train to 181st, then pickin up the car to drive here.
I will likely have dinner in room --i brought plenty of food--then decide if i wanna go out (likely not)!
Tomorrow I go out and do a bunch more stuff :)
I am soooooo grateful to all...

Would love to have the freedom you do to pursue your dreams in new places, meeting new people, experiencing new foods and taking in new meetings. I'm convinced you are one of God's chosen people. I now know after having met you, that your honest open and generous ability with sharing and listening will take you far.

Welcome to Portland! "The Bite" is going on down on the waterfront this weekend. I"m not sure there may be an admittance fee. I'm glad you're getting around okay. Are you riding the Max or the bus? I haven't tried the street car yet. I'm out on the west side and attend the Hillsboro friday meeting. It varies from 4-25 people.
I hope you can get to the beach before the weather cools down to much. Early October can be awesome there. It's my favorite place.
Good luck on your adventure.
Whitie :)
