After awhile you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul.
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning, And company doesn't mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts, And presents aren't promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up, and your eyes open, with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build all your own roads on today, because tomorrow is too uncertain for plans, and futures have a way of falling down in midflight,
And after awhile you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn you really can endure That you really are Strong, And You really do have worth, And you learn and learn And you learn.

Thanks Kis, I filed it away, I know it's a keeper, but can't take it in right now. Thanks for the encouragement, It's been a really hard day. He showed up this morning, acting like everything was just the same as always. Later on, maybe I can laugh at this. He didn't have his wallet, (I thought he did), so couldn't buy any alcohol,( hehe)so he said he waited over there for me to show up, sober (what else could he be, snicker), for two days. None of his leach friends showed up, guess they saw he was sober and didn't have any money. Then yesterday, he spent 3 hours at the Drs to get samples, cause he didn't have any money (snort, teehee ). He showed up here @ 9am, cold & hungry, said he'd been up since 4am because he was so cold. I started out the door to go to town to get some boxes. He asked me where I was going? I said for a drive, then he wanted to know if he could come, and I said no. Then he wanted me to pick him up some tobacco... hey, it's working, I'm almost laughing!! Then I told him to take the truck and go, but bring me lots of boxes. Oh, before he left, he promised me anything I wanted to hear, so, when he came back, he figured enerything was great.
I went to work on my room in the basement, he went in the bedroom as always and started watching tv. I was pissed!! I went to get my pillows and was going to sleep on the couch, then told him to get out of the bed, that I wasn't the one who f'd up, and HE ws going to sleep on the couch! He said he would leave in the morning.
