Al-Anon Family Group

hello everyone

i'm looking for information on al anon group meetings in california........i'm in a relationship with an A (for 5yrs).... he has only been going to his meeting since about a month ago......he has been sober/clean since then.........now he spends most of his time on the phone with his sponsor (woman all day long)....i was fine with that----til he started lying and making up excuses to get out of the house.......i'm confused i don't know what to think.......i know he's no wining throphy-----i just don't like that fact about him lying to me........someone told me about the al anon meetings to get help for myself........i wanted to do everything that could possibly save our relationship, since we have 3 little girls together.........but the more i read about alcoholics the more i see how wrong i was about trying to save our relationship..........i just get this feelings of emptiness & confusion---- i don't know what to do........especially when i still have feelings for him.......my family and friends have told me to leave him........and i do try, but i just can't.......at the same time i feel so weak and then i hate myself for staying and puttin up with him........why can i have the will power to say NO MORE .....

Hi Roli , weak your not. Your dealing with alcoholism drunk or sober it has many nasty symptoms (alcoholics refer to this disease themselves as cunning baffling and powerful) three words I have begun to have a great deal of respect for. in Al-Anon u will learn to set healthy boundaries for your relationship while still able to support his sobriety. here is the toll free international number for info in your area.
