Allowing yourself to be less than perfect allows you to accomplish great things in small ways. My HP, may I remove all of the pressures I overwhelming place on myself, and do what I can, when I can.
Friday evening I was the guest speaker at an Al-Anon meeting, I felt very relaxed and happy to be there. Usually, when I speak about my past I cry a lot, yet I know that I am going towards better. Yet on Friday, I told the group that I had learned to make more mistakes, because that was the best way for me to learn. With the help of my HP I know that my life is getting easier and better, and that I am happier than I have ever been. I had said that if I had helped anyone in the room with what I had said, it was a double blessing. Isn't it so strange that our perception can be so different to the reality? I was looking over towards a woman in the far back of the room, and her head was bent and her eyes were closed. I wondered if what I had been saying was boreing or if she was just tired. After the meeting she came up to me, hugged and kissed me, she said, that I had said just what she needed to hear, that she felt much better. This is an example of how our HP works. I said what I needed to say for myself first, and as a result, it had helped other people who were in the room that evening. So remember when you are asked to speak, it is always a gift for yourself first, then for other people who are in the room. Thanks for listening!!
