Today is a new day. I will not let my feelings get the best of me today. I am feeling better today a little bit. When hubby was late getting home from work last night the knots in my stomach started and those thoughts of "well I know what he will be like when he does get in" started. I must say I was suprised to find he was sober when he did get home, just had to work late. And he was sober when I got up this morning. He works late nights so alot of times he will stay up until after I get up in the mornings. By no means am I getting my hopes up but maybe with all the talk yesterday he is doing some thinking. You all are right it is up to him now. I've got a rather busy day planned for myself today plus work tonight myself. I am going to have fun spending the morning with my daughter at school. Hope everyone here has a wonderful day!

Hello Feather, now your talkin enjoy the day with your daughter. Your attitude and actions are the only thing u have any control over anyway so why not enjoy the day. Getting rid of the obsession of someone elses life takes alot of time and energy away from you. I wasted so many yrs trying to figure him out and what made him tick. Love will not cure this disease,unfortunatley.
Getting your life back is hard work , keeping the focus on yorself is harder but well worth the effort. When we step aside God can get a them. as long as we are meddling in God s work nothing will change. I am reminded often that my plans never worked so I had nothing to loose by turning my life over to a Higher Power, and I always forgot that m y husband had a HP too. good luck keep talking things out Louise

We all relate to those feelings of wondering who was coming through the door - Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde. I remember so well the turmoil and fear when I expected the drunk to appear, then the confusion and guilt when he walked in sober.
Sounds to me that you are doing all the right things. Go to meetings, read the literature, talk to 'healthy' people who are striving for recovery and following the Alanon programme. It works if you work it.
