Hi all, I find myself reciting the closing prayer like I use to say the pledge of allegence when i was a kid in school. It becomes a ritual and I loose the meaning of the words, and just say the words. I have found that a new twist on the same words can help me to bring that meaning back to them and really like this version (New Living Translation) of the prayer so I though I might share it with you. It has brought the meanings back to the orginal version and helped me to understand the power of the poem through todays language.
Our father in heaven, may your name be honored
May your kindom come soon, May your will be done here on earth, Just as it is in heaven
Give us our food for today, And fogive us our sins, Just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us
And don't let us yield to temptation, But deliver us from the evil one
For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever Amen
lots of love, Trina
