After seeing the post of The Awakening, I thought I'd share a poem that I wrote about 3 years ago, as I was just sitting one day and decided to write and 5 minutes later.... This is what I composed. I have to say, I feel it's one of my best and most powerful poems I had ever written without even trying. In turn, I've learned that writing is an awesome way for me to strengthen my relationship with God. :) Enjoy!
Awaken
Morning sun shining through Leaves misted with light dew A breathe of air, fresh and clean A blanket of grass grows so tall and green
Hearts profound Love shared by two A blessing from God Denies any Facade
Eyes sparkling with a radiant smile Laughter and joy shall beguile A first breathe of life innocently taken An internal peace soon forsaken
Falling rain clouds the sky Lightning and thunder rage and defy A life long battle begins again An awakened discovery of what is feign
Abstain this life brought into Get back to the truth in beautiful view Return to what had naively been taken Believe in your hearts and be miraculously awakened

Thank you david and cloud for your kind words.... Writing has ALWAYS been a source of peace for me and so healing. I suppose that is what prompted me to write my autobiography.
Take Care! :)

I have one more for ya both--- I actually had entered these on www.poetry.com and was nominated for winning an annual award for them. I didn't attend though because I was so busy and really don't do it for recognition, but more for inspiration and to express my feelings. :)))
Both were included in an anthology of poetry though that was published the years I submitted them. I thought that was kinda neat considering I just sat down and wrote in about 5 minutes-- didn't take much effort, just came from the heart. That is WHERE I always want to be..... in touch with my heart.
The Dawn
The Heart grows kinder with each passing day When realization of Christ comes your way
Sadness departs and is replaced with peace All of your cares so easily cease To the care of God, your mind can ease Just as wind blowing gently through trees
The sky illuminates a brand new day As the sun glisten on an oceans bay The waves beat against a shore As the seagulls fly above with freedom to soar
God gives us this life to do what we choose It is by our choice if we choose to win or lose Trials and tribulation will take their turn However, it is still for God that we should constantly yearn
He can promise a life filled with peace, love, and joy Only a life of sorrow He can destroy So when times are difficult and you feel you cannot hold on Give your cares to God and be patient for the dawn
