Two very important quotes I received today which reminded me to stop saying, "I need a vacation!" to myself. I have the power to rearrange my own minutes, hours and days to do what I want if I want...I really do...even if it's just being kind to myself. It's really all up to me...and, in a way that's a darn good thing...lol

I had been feeling really tired, and so I began planning a one- week vacation. I became aware of how desperate I was to leave responsibilities behind and simply do nothing for a while. Fortunately, I quickly realized how insane it is to expect one little week that is months away to meet all my needs for freedom, joy, play and relaxation.
Life is only worth living when we experience the gifts of vacations in delicious moments, day in and day out. Qualities like freedom, play and joy do not depend on external conditions. They can be realized any time, if we open to their presence right now.
I’m happy that I will be going on vacation, AND I’m doing more to look after my needs as they arise each day.

Hi Lani , gotta love it. This is not a dress rehersal (life) we only get one crack at it and making the best of each day works. Comming from where we were to living in today takes time and alot of effort . gratfully we don't have to do it alone anymore.
I like being responsible for my own happiness today , tho that was not always the case . hehe

Thanks for helping me start my day on a positive note Lani. I too feel I'm in desperate need of a holiday and have made arrangements for my husband to have two weeks respite care in a Hospice starting June 21. My elder daughter and granddaughter want me to join them on a weeks holiday on a Greek island. I can't even plan what I'm doing tomorrow let alone in June/July so we've decided to wait and perhaps do a last minute booking. I may decide that the best holiday I could have would be for me to spend those two weeks in my home and garden, meeting friends and enjoying the privacy of my home. Freedom from a continual stream of well-meaning nurses, carers, sitters, doctors, cancer counsellors who help me nurse and care for John. We can always go to the Greek island in September.
So I shall follow your lead and "Keep it in the Day", that's something my Sponsor continually reminded me of. The sun is shining, I feel well, I have much to be grateful for and I shall focus on the simple positive things today. Give my mind and body a holiday.

Thanks Friends for appreciating the wisdom we were denying by default because we were so busy focusing on the "other" person, place or thing. So glad our spirit forged through that thick "fog" to find each other waiting with open arms...I think we deserve a blue ribbon for a marathon well won! More to come...there's a waterfall of wisdom out there waiting for us to shower under!
