Hi...just checking in...am quite frustrated and sometimes angered. [So I like your post on anger]. Gee, hubby put up 4 fingers the other night, smiled and pointed at himself. I said, "What? You had a step four meeting? You are on the Fourth Step?" He said, "Four month anniversay". So that confirmed it for me, we really were starting ALL OVER January 2nd! He technically has 4 months of sobriety, and scrath 2004, according to him. Frustrated I gave him a whole year again to fart around, but must be gracious and grateful for the past 4 months.--
Anyway, I cannot complain the way things have been going the past four months. Just sometimes he feels like a speeding train or runaway horse entering my life. When he drank, I needed the rubber hammer. Now I feel like I need leather reins to say "WHOA!" This may ADHD in play. I don't know. I have spent the past day or two trying to keep my focus, and sorting things out. --I guess to know what to say, or boundaries to set.
Maybe WHOA will be the first word out of my mouth! Thanks for listening.

Congratulations to your hubby, Wall. I understand how you feel, when my alcoholic sobered up, it felt like a freight train roaring down the tracks. The first year of recovery is the hardest because the alcoholic is learning to live without alcoholic and gather new tools to replace the old ones that didn't work. It's also the hardest for us because we are learning new tools to replace the ones we no longer need. Hang in there wall, and keep coming back. Glad you are here with us, SenoraBob
