I just got home from my neighbors house. She came over a few hours ago to ask me to come and take some pictures of her dog having puppies.
I brought my four and seven year old sons with me and we spent the last two hours watching Maxie have puppies.
I have seen my own animals give birth many times and my boys watched our cat have kittens a few weeks ago, but I never tire of seeing it and the looks in the boys faces and the comments they make are priceless.
My boys are now sleeping happily (dreaming of a way to weedle a puppy out of me) and right now I have such a sense of peace and contentment that I haven't felt in such a long time.
It doesn't solve anything, but the simple miracle of life certainly puts things into perspective.A good neighbor,a cardboard box, warm squealing puppies and the smiling faces of two little boys. Tonight Maxie is a happy Mommy and right now I am too.
Just wanted to share it with all of you. Have a great night!

Jeannie,
What a special post :) You don't sound like a mom that needs anger management or a psych evaluation...:) :) You sound pretty darned grounded in your own self and your role as a mom. This little kitten I have here why my daughter is in the hospital brings a newness to our home too. She is so fun to watch and so innocent when she chases her tail etc. Thanks for this new life post. cdb :)

Jeannie,
Thanks for sharing that experience. I sometimes forget that this board is for positive experiences too! Good luck to you trying to stop the kids from weasling a puppy....can't wait to see who wins that one

Gosh Darnit jeanie...now I want a puppy...Teehee!!! (Just Kidding.) The miracle of life is so beautiful and it so relates to this program. We come here feeling lost and broken and we stay because we have learned how beautiful life can be when we no longer focus on the pain. That was a very beautiful story and I am glad you shared it. Thank you, SenoraBob
