Someone sent me this quote and I thought I'd share it.
"The future is not some place we are going to, but the one we are creating. The paths are not to be found, but made, and the activity of making them, changes both the maker and the destination."
That has really helped me to remember that I am responsible for how my life is going. The nouns (people, places & things) may affect me, but it up to me how much I let them. If anyone has heard that before and knows the author, I sure would like to know who wrote that, so i can give him/her a big wet one.
God loves ya, I love ya, and there aint a darn thing you can do about it,
yours in recovery, Trina

Hi Trina,
It is a great quote,
It is a line from the writing, "Creating The Great Community" by Professor John Schaar.
The future is not a result of choices
among alternative paths offered by the
present, but a place that is created-
created first in mind and will,
created next in activity.
The future is not some place
we are going to, but one we are creating.
The paths to it are not found but made,
and the activity of making them changes
both the mind and the destination.

Thanks mastiff... this quote really hit home for me ... lately I have not been being very responsible for my own life... I have been on a terrible downer... thank you for giving me a little wake up call ... The place I need the most is Miracles in Progress to keep me on a path of recovery and not self destruction.. The things that so many of you share are what helps me remember I am not alone... Thank you... Terry... smeep
