I can only tell you how I do things and that I have never threatened what I was not prepared to follow through on otherwise my credibility is at risk and the next time I say something it will not be believed.
Pot smoking can be for a number of reasons from self-medicating for undiagnosed psychological conditions to habits formed a long time ago.
The best thing for you to do is to take care of yourself - find a NA or Al-Anon group and attend some face to face or on-line meetings if you can and you will be amazed at how much you will learn and with that learning generally comes change.NA Good luck!

Hi there, and welcome to our group. It has been sanity saver for me, coming here. I learned a lot about alcoholism/addiction and received a lot of support from the wonderful people here. We are all either going through pretty much the same experiences, or have been there.
I found that the more I learned about alcoholisn and addictions, the better I was able to cope with them. I think one of the most important things that I learned was that I: "didn't cause it, couldn't control it, and can't cure it", but am learning how to cope with it.
I also found out that you have to set boundaries, and stick to them!! Really "say what you mean, mean what you say, and don't say it mean." Those are a couple wise quotes from Alanon. If you can, try to get to some face to face meetings, and/or the on-line meetings here, get lots of literature, and learn as much as you can before making any major changes in your life. I don't know much about addictions, but I believe there is a Narcotics Anonamous too. Hope this helps! All the best to you, TLC

Hint? That was no hint Orchid, that was a threat! But remember...it is never advisable to make a threat and not carry it through. Empty threats mean nothing to an addict. If you don't mean it, don't say it. If you do mean it, it's time to call your attorney!
