My husband obtained a gun from a girl that was stolen and now she is in jail and the gun has to go back to the police, which takes it out of my home and out of my A husband's hands!

God listens to my prayers! And he will listen to yours! Plus I wanted to tell you all how much I appreciate your support and prayers.

Take things one day at a time and we all will survive!

Hi deb, I just went back and read the rest of your posts. Wow you have been through alot in the last couple of days. I am glad that the gun is going to the police. Best thing!!

I can totally relate to the way that your feeling towards your husband. I too detach to the point that i can not stand to be in the same room as my A and yes he mostly discusts me when he has been drinking and the next day. Although that is more often than not. I alo wonder if I should leave and then stay because i love mine and think that it is better for my kids to be with their dad. It is only recently that all of this has resurfaced for me and I do eventually bring myself out of what I call my "Rutt of regression".

If I ever feared for my safty I would bolt! So if you left before the 6 month period I totally wouldn't balme you but be on your cheering squad. I am glad that you have come here and keep comming.

I am also glad to here you sounding so positive. Positivity is empowering and taking back your life is great!

Thank you everyone for your prayers. God is listening to you and He is working in my life. Yes, to keep a positive outlook on life with an A helps a lot, but sometimes it's tough to get that way when all things don't look so great.

Today I am off and he is home because he has been laid off. His job closed their doors forever and now I have no "me" time like I used to and it gets to me a little. But I guess my "me" time comes from my Al-Anon meetings, this messege board and my sister.

It feels good to know I am not alone, but don't you kinda wish this was a messege board of a different subject? But as long as we all stick together and keep supporting each other, we'll all be okay.

I am going to open an account that my A won't know about and start saving for whatever. Plus I do have someone who will help me in a heart beat should anything bad happen. I also know where the shelter is in my town. I do miss my cats and dream of them often, but just knowing I don't have to worry about their safety and only my own has helped. Like my sister said, there will be other animals in my future to love.

God is good and listens to us all. I will also keep my friends here on the board in my prayers and pray strength and courage on you now.

I am still touched by the reply you posted for lalarainbow! It was filled with such wisdom of your dealings with your brother.  I think inside your heart you may have alot of the answers for yourself. The answers just must need to come to you at the appropriate time. I wish none of us would have never had to look for this site too. But, I feel we all were meant to be here to know each other and to help each other through whatever is in front of us. It is great when someone like JJ is here to reply to you too since my experience now is with my daughter. I will continue to think of you and look forward to more of your posts. cdb

How scary to have a gun in the house with an A, can't even imagine the fear.  So pleased God is watching over you.

Where I live in New Zealand guns are illegal you can only own one if you are a hunter or an enthusiest gun collector and you have a special license issued by the police who investigate each person who applies for a gun license.  Our policeman don't carry guns either (Although they have special armed defender squads) and we have very few incidents with people being killed with guns.

The USA is so different and guns are so prevalent I can see how easy it would be for firearms to fall in to the wrong hands.

You are have been so brave under such a real life threating object!
